  1. I appreciated your comments on “teaching a class” versus “giving a class.” I took ballroom dance in college during which the instructor would demonstrate the move for us twice and then expect us to perform it perfectly. Whenever I’m learning something new, I need step-by-step instruction (literally in this case). I got a “B” in the class, but I don’t remember much about the dances I was expected to do.

    1. That’s disappointing to hear! The trick of a class is to make sure you are able to keep it moving while also giving enough time to absorb the material. Either by repetition or just allowing time for the class to work on their own. Outside of my 11 years on the college level, I’ve also ran master classes and adult classes of various styles (Tap, Theatre Dance, Swing Dance, etc). Seeing beginners learn and grow class to class is a major success for a teacher.

  2. Thanks a bunch for the wonderful review of our documentary and spreading the word about it to your listeners!

    1. Kelvin! Thank you for taking the time to listen! It was educational, emotional and a worthy tribute to Dave’s legacy.
