TBT: Peter’s Comic Page: Remember When 1991

Another timeline post this week, this time from my old 2002 AOL homepage on comics, as I take a look at the various offerings from the year 1991. The following highlighted comics are listed by cover dates, not actual ship dates. Meaning, it’s not a true representation of the full 1991 year. I’m fairly certain I picked this year to cover in 2002 because it was the year that brought me back into comics after a small sabbatical. Many of the new titles, changes and storylines – the Titans Hunt, Armageddon 2001, Infinity Gauntlet, X-Men Mutant Genesis, etc  – are responsible for making me wonder what was going on with some of my favorite comics and characters. 1991 is also often overshadowed by 1992 – the year in comics that gave us the Death of Superman and Image Comics (interesting to note that because I all but missed the explosion of pre-Image artists at DC and Marvel in 1987 thru 1990, I gravitated to Image more because of the potential of reading something new over chasing a favorite artist). I’m glad I decided to jump back in when I did. Enjoy!
