AVENGERS UNDERCOVER 1
By Dennis Hopeless and Kev Walker. I just finished Avengers Arena a week back – and wound up liking the series by the end – so I’m ready to continue the story. It’s definitely playing in its own corner of the Marvel Universe – much of what has transpired could be easily ignored but so far nothing has been reset. Which is a good thing if they want to keep the effectiveness of the concept going. I could almost see this title becoming a reverse of Kurt Busiek’s original Thunderbolts premise.

SECRET AVENGERS 1
By writer Ales Kot. His debut books Wild Children and Change grabbed my attention in the same way it was grabbed by Jonathan Hickman’s Nightly News. Smart, challenging, in your face comics – writers with unique voices. It’ll be interesting to see if that translates into the mainstream.

X-MEN LEGACY 300
Another Marvel Now release that grew on me once I moved beyond the initial issues. It’s raw, it’s wordy, it’s quirky – it’s not for everyone. Something about it kept me going though. This is the special anniversary issue finale that’ll cap this part of Legion’s story.
