I have a soft spot for Doctor X and Doctor Double X thanks to World’s Finest #276, which features a cover by George Perez. I was six years old when it was published. The concept of an energy duplicate captured my imagination, especially the way he was used in the story to make Superman unknowingly hurt Batman. I was delighted when he appeared on The Brave and the Bold animated series.
I totally understand that sentiment when it comes to villains you first come across in those “golden age” years. I have a bunch of one-off villains that I adore that barely were ever seen again after the early 80s. Ha!
