AND MORE…
DARK HORSE
– Great stuff this month, including a new Blacksad HC: Amarillo by Juan Diaz Canales and Juanjo Guarnido; a new 48-page format for Dark Horse Presents; an interesting 4-issue mini-series titled POP! that’s billed as We3 meets True Romance; and the HC collection of the first volume of Concrete Park by Tony Puryear and Erika Alexander.
DC COMICS
– Multiversity begins! ‘Nuff said
– New Teen Titans FINALLY gets a softcover, color trade treatment with volume 1 collecting the 16-page preview and the first eight issues. There’s been an Archive and an Omnibus, but this is the first time a more affordable collection has been offered. Now you can go catch up on those old Tower episodes of mine!
– Speaking of the NTT, Secret Origins 5 has a Cyborg story by creator Marv Wolfman
– Random thought about Smallville: how much longer can they keep “Season 11” going? It’s been years – time for an upgrade to 12, no?
– Final issues of Superboy, Birds of Prey, Batwing and All-Star Western. Also both Trinity of Sin books – only to be replaced later by an actual Trinity of Sin comic. Why couldn’t they get a Question book out while Pandora and Phantom Stranger were running? That would’ve at least made a true Trinity of titles at the time. Such a missed opportunity on that one.
IDW
– Dave Wachter provides art for the Godzilla: Cataclysm five issue mini-series
– Wonder Woman Complete Newspaper Strips collects the entire year plus run by the same creative team from the comics of William Moulton Marston and Harry G. Peters.
Peter, in regards to your Smallville comment, it was recently revealed that the end of the latest mini (Continuity) will be the end of the series. http://bryanqmiller.tumblr.com/post/99923205680/smallville
