I find that comics for some reason has a lot of reviewers who are trying to work in the industry. I think if you want to work in the industry it is a big conflict if you also have a public forum where you can judge other creators. If you want to have a podcast on making comics or going over the work of older creators I think that is ok but, but doing a pick of the week podcast just to get to spend time with big wigs at Image or whatever is ethicly shakey.
Hear hear. A good way to spot the ones more interested in their place within the comics industry over the comics themselves: check who they follow on twitter. If the ratio favors comic creators/personalities over their own listeners, that’s a sign.
