A new year, a new batch of recommendations of comics and collections!
A look at suggestions for the week of January 8th!
ALL-NEW MARVEL NOW POINT ONE
Technically, the new Marvel Now wave started on Dec.24th with Avengers #24 – and just like the wave one Point One, this oneshot also comes out a few weeks later. We’ll see how much of this oneshot is actual set-up or just teases for a year later.

DETECTIVE COMICS #27
Anniversary issue – which gives it a must buy. And the talent roster definitely has me interested. Happy 75th, Batman!

GREEN LANTERN SECTOR 2814 tpb vol.3
Collecting the Crisis… tie-in issues leading up to issue #200 and the change from a solo title to the Green Lantern Corps run. Looking back on these ’80s comics, I realize just how much I enjoyed them – even though it didn’t necessarily make me a huge Green Lantern fan. But I do love sci-fi and space concepts – and I probably have Len Wein, Steve Englehart, Dave Gibbons, Joe Staton and company to thank for adding to that particular fondness.

HEAVEN’S WAR tpb
I know little of this, but it combines Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, the Inklings, Aleister Crowley and others into a madcap story. That premise sounds too good to pass.

TOMORROWLAND HC
From Titan Comics, collecting the 4 issue mini-series written by Paul Jenkins. Totally just taking a chance on this one. Sometimes that can be worth it.

Your spotlighting Heaven’s War reminds me to put this on my want list. I agree, the premise sounds very promising.
Nice!
